Relax and Escape

Relax and Escape was a VR Meditation Application designed to let users spend a little time in a comfortable environment.  Complete with relaxing, the user could choose between a beach, camping, or Zen garden scene. This project was done with Wild Beard Games.

Augmented Reality

I was provided the opportunity to work with the Hololens and the Magic Leap AR headsets by my day time employer. We built an educational application that was used as the showpiece at the MakerX convention in Columbus Ohio. The project displayed a model of the human anatomy and allowed the user to explore the different systems of the body.

I've also worked on several mobile AR applications that were created with Unity3d and the Vuforia engine. These range from augmenting murals to even a small game that was given as a wedding gift to my wife.

Misc Projects

At this point it would be difficult to describe all of the projects I've worked on. In the realms of Mixed Reality I've focused on Unity3d but I've also done some minor things in WebVR. In AI, I've trained brains to recognize deer to frighten them out of my yard. I've trained spheres to recognize their digital environment and interact with it. I've built various projects with Raspberry Pi.  Those projects led me down the path of learning Python and Java. Using Unity, I've created videos to overlay murals or to display on light field displays. I've learned the basics of Blender and Substance Painter to create simple objects for my projects.  My next project will be to 3d print chocolate which finally links my other passion: food.  Above all, I love to learn and I spend a great deal of time doing it.

ABOUT US

About Me

I'm an software developer working around Columbus, Ohio.  By day I work in the healthcare industry creating applications and automation solutions to better the lives of our staff and patients.

I enjoy game development as well as learning about emerging technologies. I've dabbled in 2d, 3d and board game development. I've built websites and native apps. I've worked with AR/VR (both headsets and mobile) and experimented with AI and Machine Learning.  I also enjoy playing with 3d printing and I have enumerable gadgets and IoT devices piled up on workbench. While I may not have mastered all of these concepts I try to learn enough that I can apply them to future projects. And the process of learning keeps me sharp and keeps my skills up to date.
